Ontario Autism Program
Ontario is developing a new sustainable autism program that offers core clinical services based on need.
Children and youth with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis by a qualified professional are eligible for the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) and can receive services and support until the age of 18.
The OAP offers core clinical services based on a child’s individual needs, a key element of the new needs-based system. These services include applied behaviour analysis, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy and mental health supports.
The Toronto Autism Service Network is a group of providers that deliver caregiver-mediated early years programs in Toronto. The caregiver-mediated early years program is part of the new needs-based Ontario Autism Program and will support families with young children ages 12 months to 48 months.
