Social ABCs

The Social ABCs is a six-week program that empowers you to support your child’s (ages 12-42 months) social communication skills development.

In this program, you will learn and practice a combination of developmental and behavioural principles and focus on improving your toddler’s use of vocalizations to communicate and share positive emotions with others. You will work with a trained coach to learn the intervention strategies in your child’s natural environment, using play-based activities and daily routines that your child finds the most motivating.

Schedule

The program consists of six small-group workshops with coaches and other caregivers and nine individual coaching sessions with the caregiver, their child and the Social ABCs coach.

Both caregiver and child must be present for all individual coaching sessions. Caregiver only required for weekly caregiver workshops.

Caregiver Workshops:
Mar 3 – Apr 7, 2025 | 1 Day (Mon) | 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Coaching Sessions: Mar 3 – Apr 11, 2025 | (Mon-Fri) | 2 coaching sessions per week for the first three weeks and 1 coaching session per week for the final three weeks. One hour coaching sessions will be scheduled individually.

Please note that you must have received an invitation letter for Caregiver-Mediated Early Years Services and be registered with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) to be eligible for this service. Based on OAP guidelines, only one Early Years Caregiver Service is available per 12-month period.
